Good food, good friends, great atmosphere. That lucky trio makes for a night out you’ll want to repeat over and over again. And it’s exactly what I found when I visited Nino’s Sports Bar on Route 11, in between North Syracuse and Cicero. Nino’s is quickly becoming a favorite with those of us who love to regularly get out for a little camaraderie and fun. It’s the kind of place where everybody knows your name. Or, if you happen to be a first-timer, where they get to know it quickly!
Even though you can watch all the latest baseball, football, soccer, NASCAR, and basketball, Nino’s is so much more than a sports bar. With fabulous food, catering, parties, and excellent entertainment, you never need to leave! All through the week, there’s something happening at Nino’s. Sunday and Monday, stop in to catch a football game, and enjoy bottle beer specials and tasty 25 cent wings. Nino’s has NFL Season Ticket, so you can watch your team no matter where they’re playing. With screens strategically placed all through the place, you can see any game your heart desires without missing a beat.
Wednesday is Ladies’ and Auction night, when women can take advantage of drink specials, and anyone with a Tri-State Auction dealer ID gets their first drink on the house. Thursday offers bottle beer specials to get you ready for the weekend, when the fun really starts at Nino’s. There’s a band every weekend, either Friday or Saturday night. Come down and enjoy great live music, and swing the night away on their huge dance floor.
NINO's is a big place, with a roomy bar, lots of tables to sit and relax, that spacious dance floor with tables above to sit and rest between songs, and a dedicated pool room that allows lots of space to make your shots. If you’re a softball player, golfer, dartsman, or a legend with a pool cue, stop in and ask about Nino’s sponsoring your team.
Losing sleep because you’ve been chosen to plan the company shindig? You can let your worries go, because you’ve come to the right place. Check out Nino’s banquet facilities, with a big party room that can fit up to 125 of your favorite folks comfortably. Don’t worry about the menu - Nino’s can cater your birthday, shower, bachelor (or bachelorette!) party, or office bash with their standard excellent fare, or make any dish you crave. Book now for the upcoming season, as they’re filling up fast!
Fabulous food is the best kept secret about Nino’s. Big portions and great prices bring in devoted fans. The menu is full of comfort food classics, and the house specialities are made from scratch. Try their salads, breaded calamari, clams casino, three kinds of shrimp, all your favorite fried veggies, wings, tenders, meatballs, hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, baked french onion soup . ..yum. An if that’s not enough, Chef Lisa whips up homemade soups, chili, chicken stew, meatloaf, real mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken empanadas, eggplant parmiagiana with marinara sauce – it’s simple, good food that nobody has time to make for themselves any more. Lisa makes a different lunch special every day, and it’s worth checking out every one.
When I stopped in, she had prepared her grilled chicken with tequila lime salsa, a masterpiece of flavor and color that I only wish I could emulate. Every Friday, there’s fresh beer-batter fried fish, and I’ve heard a rumor that with enough encouragement, Lisa might put her famous cheesecake on the menu!
