Shhots
Jolene Carr

Shhots is the spot where sports-bar fun meets casual-class.
A sign informs visitors at the door that however laid back it may be, the pub is not the place for hoodies or loose-fitting pants. With that said, it’s the perfect place for game-lovers to lay back in nicer jeans and a jersey.
Dark and light shades of blue on the walls combined with minimal décor, simple wooden tables, hanging black lights and a large contemporary-style bar makes the pub feel like a smaller-scale Tullys. Nonetheless, Shhots still proves that bigger is better with their large dining area and six 42-inch and one 52-inch televisions for Friday and Saturday sporting events. Special lighting is available for dart games, while pitch and pool leagues are also welcome.
Five bartenders and a full-time cook provide tasty grub favorites from 1/2 pound burgers and deli sandwiches to pizza with fresh dough and large wings in a variety of sauces. Monday-Friday Happy Hours from 4-7p.m. offer 50-cent beer and drink specials while Friday’s slot comes with a free buffet. Look for lunch specials each day from 11:30-12:30p.m., and game day deals like a pitcher of beer and order of wings for $10.
The friendly staff isn’t afraid to take their bar outside of the box to incorporate their Italian pride. To bring your usual bar food grease fest up a notch, try some sophisticated finger food like calamari for one of the lowest prices around at $5.99.
For sports celebrations, catered parties, take-out, delivery, or a bit of hospitaliano on your lunch break, head to Teal Ave and take a “shhot” at something new.
