If you are looking for a restaurant that can serve a great steak or Italian favorites look no further than Delmonico’s Italian Steak House. Delmonico’s is conveniently located at 2950 Erie Blvd East Syracuse, NY 13224. They are open Monday through Thursday 4 to 10, Friday 4 to 11:30, Saturday 1 to 11:30 and Sunday 1 to 10. Come to Delmonico’s and enjoy a great meal in one of their themed rooms: the Sports Room, the Wannabe Room and the Soprano/Mafia Room.
On an unseasonably warm December evening, my friend Kerilyn and I went to dinner at Delmonico’s. We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and seated at our table in the front room adorned with holiday decorations. We were soon greeted by our knowledgeable and charming waiter, Mike. Mike has been with Delmonico’s for over six years and serving in Syracuse for two. Mike initially pointed out the card on the table with the specials. I thought that this card with the specials was a nice touch because sometimes the wait staff runs through the specials too fast to really hear what they are or to remember them.
We decided to start our meal with the Shrimp Scampi appetizer special. It was four very delicious jumbo shrimp served in a garlic scampi sauce and two pieces of garlic bread. We also both had the Gorgonzola Wedge, a wedge of Iceberg Lettuce, Red Onions, Black Olives, Tomatoes and Blue Cheese Dressing. Our salad was served with warm bread and butter. For an entrée I decided on the Ravioli Tre Modi and ordered it with Half Spicy Vodka Sauce and Half Marinara Sauce topped w/ Gorgonzola. It was wonderful, and cheese and the gorgonzola added a nice flavor. You can also have this ravioli entirely with spicy vodka sauce or marinara sauce. Kerilyn ordered the famous Delmonico’s Delmonico steak -1-1/2 pound (HUGE 24 oz) certified Angus beef, center cut rib-eye steak from Midwestern heavy aged beef, seasoned and perfectly seared and served with Penne Marinara. They say, with some obvious justification, that this is the “BEST DEAL IN TOWN!” The steak was cooked to perfection, just the way she likes it, rare! We didn’t have room for dessert this trip, but next time I will definitely try one of their delicious homemade cannolis, one of my all-time favorite desserts!
Delmonico’s offers daily specials as well as classic Central New York favorites. When you stop into Delmonico’s you won’t be disappointed with the East Utica Greens, escarole sautéed with garlic, prosciutto, bread crumbs, Romano & hot pepper. Also be sure to try the New York Strip Sirloin which is a one pound (16 oz) certified Angus beef, center cut, seasoned and perfectly seared, with Penne Marinara. Another favorite is the Filet Mignon which is a 9 oz Choice or better center cut seasoned and grilled to order served with Penne Marinara, or the bone-in filet which is a 14 oz Choice or better center cut and served with a Cabernet Sauce on the side and garlic angel hair pasta.
At Delmonico’s you can create the meal of your dreams. All steaks can be topped with hot peppers, grilled onions, and sautéed mushrooms. And you can substitute the side of pasta for with a sweet or baked potato, garlic mashed potatoes, Fettuccine Alfredo, and broccoli or asparagus. You can also add a house salad, a Roma tomato & mozzarella salad, a Caesar Salad or a Gorgonzola Wedge to any meal.
Delmonico’s is a great place to have a meeting, banquet or party. They offer a special banquet menu that you can enjoy in one of the three party rooms: the Sinatra Room, the Dean Martin Room or the Tony Bennett Room.
